Protein?? Yeah need to add that to my life..well at least more than I used to get.
I recently started my weight loss journey and joined Weight Watchers as a guide. This is really the first time I have ever decided “okay I am going to lose some weight”. It wasn’t until that dreaded number on the scale hit 170 and I realized I was now heavier than I had been at the end of any of my 4 pregnancies. Definitely an eye-opener! My BFF and I decided to start a fun support group of sorts for other weight watchers members and it has been so fabulous. The members of the group make this journey fun and totally doable.
Because I am always looking for healthier options to change up my regular eating habits, I was curious what proteins are out there. I knew you really needed to up your protein intake if you are wanting to shed those pounds. I compiled a list to help make it easier for you on your weight loss journey.
Protein Options on Weight Watchers
Seafood ~ Salmon, Halibut, Scallops are great protein examples for weight loss
White Meat Poultry ~ remember no bones, no skin, just breast meat
Non-Fat Plain Greek Yogurt(unsweetened) ~ Fage is my favorite..
Eggs ~ Hardboiled, Fried(no oil or butter), soft boiled, poached, scrambled…GO CRAZY
Beans ~ White beans have the most but change it up and use black or pinto if you like.
Veggies ~ Peas, Spinach, Kale, Mushrooms and OMG do not forget CORN!! You can have CORN on the Freestyle plan.
Fruit ~ Guava, Starfruit, Blackberries, Melon, Nectarines, and so many more!!
There are also a few different protein shakes that are good go to for added protein but not all protein shakes are created equal so make sure you are scanning or typing it in manually in the app. I really like Premier Protein because you can find it in many stores including Walmart and Sam’s Club. But I had a chance to try the Iconic Protein Shakes and they are equally as good if you ask me. The great thing is they are also low in weight watchers points so you won’t blow your whole day of points in just one bottle.
I hope this list helps you with your weight loss journey and if you have any protein options you would like to add, be sure to comment below.
